What happens when you have no recognised nationality, or have it erased or degraded by malicious state authority? Is self-sovereign, blockchain-based identification on the horizon? Can blockchain and decentralised identity help people secure basic rights, banking, and other essential services?

This Wednesday, 11 November, we're welcoming Aleksejs Ivashuk, founder of Apatride Network, a stateless-led organisation working to advance human rights across Europe and beyond.

With over a decade of experience in human rights field, Aleksejs also co-founded the Blockchain for Human Rights consortium. He'll help explain and explore the real-world challenges of statelessness, the potential of blockchain-based identity systems, and the risks of trusting personal identity in a centralised digital infrastructure.
